I'm just a geek learning to become a bigger geek.
   
   

Hi. I'm HeavyMetalHero. If it wasn't obvious I am neither a professional writer or a web designer. My job isn't at all tech related but I love technology. I'm constantly trying to learn new skills and play with things that I barely understand.

A few years ago I was learning Linux and part of the course was setting up a server. After the course I couldn't delete it and decided to keep it. (I never should have given it a name.)

In addition to being a place to write about things I find interesting, This site is a place for me to put into practice different skills I'm working on and experiment with. This site is pure HTML. I wrote the code in Vim as that's something I've been trying to get more proficient with.

I'm not a hacker but I enjoy hacker things and learning hacker skills. I went to DEFCON32 and will be attending some more local conventions it the next few months. I like playing with hacker toys such as the Flipper Zero, Pwnagotchi, and the Hack RF One. I'm currently using TryHackMe and learning a ton and having a blast.
